Pour ce qui débarque et ne connaissent pas encore Instagram: en deux mots, cette application iphone propose de partager des photos avec une liste de followers. C’est cool, je l’utilise depuis quelques temps. Cela vous permet de partager des instantanés de votre quotidien. Retrouvez-moi sur Instagram sous yanngraf. On se voit là bas.

What The Friday is #LIFTstory ?!

This is a little experiment (we will see if it really works…)

Since everyone will be tweeting like crazy during Lift Conference, I thought: How could we bring some fun & creativity into all this?

So, this is the idea: Let’s build a multi-layered / multi-author story during those three days. A story based only on tweets, a story where everyone could bring his personal touch. A non-linear story in constant mouvement. A story without any ending nor start.

How does it work?

Someone tweets « Once upon a time in Geneva #LIFTstory1 »
You continue the story by tweeting « a barber was having fun in his backyard #LIFTstory2 »
Your neighbor tweets « with his dog and and a haki-bag received for his birthday #LIFTstory3 »
And so on..

But at any moment your can restart a branch and start over from Part #1. Also several people could write a Part #2 at the same time. The story starts to split and unfold. And it starts to become interesting (and totally chaotic ).

Feel free to tweet videos, pictures or whatever you want/can to share.

Ghost bikes ou les vélos fantômes

En attendant le retour de températures plus clémentes pour la pratique du vélo, je veux vous faire découvrir le projet “Ghost Bikes”. Il a démarré en 2003 à St-Louis (Missouri) où des dizaines de bicyclettes peintes en blanc sont apparues dans les rues attachées à des piliers. Ils sont autant de repères pour signaler la mort accidentelle d’un cycliste. Une mémorial en quelque sorte. Depuis, des vélos fantômes sont apparu partout autour de la planète.

Les photos parlent d’elles mêmes. Un beau projet je trouve. www.ghostbikes.org

In the last weeks, I’ve spend a lot of time browsing around on video websites. I decided to start a post serie to share my findings. The first article on this topic is about music video. It’s always incredible how many (wierd & insane) ideas the directors can have.

Vous, les directeurs d’agence, mettez vos têtes créatrices à la porte. Littéralement, je veux dire. Faites les sortir! Dehors ils trouveront l’inspiration. Oui, pourquoi-vous ne payeriez-vous pas à billet pour Winterthur à votre DA junior? Une journée enfermé dans le train, à boire des cafés, à flâner en ville, à monter des escaliers, à sourire aux filles? Oui, pourquoi serait-il plus productif dans son cubicle? Enfermé entre 4 murs blancs?

De part mon expérience personnelle, je pense que les meilleurs idées ne viennent pas dans un bureau. Lorsque l’on doit mettre son cerveau en mode créatif, un environnement riche, dynamique et vivant est bien plus inspirant. Bien sûr, rien ne remplace le bon vieux bureau lorsqu’il s’agit de définir un planning, de coder un plugin ou de préparer un document pour l’impression.

Et vous, où trouvez-vous vos meilleurs idées? En faisant votre running hebdomadaire? Pendant les courses? Durant la balade dominicale? Ou finalement quand même au bureau?

International Championship League of Matchbox Stuffers

Ah ha, I’m 100% sure never heard about this league! I stumbled upon this on Flickr while looking for some nice pictures for my blog. What is it? Stuffists (that’s how they called themselves) try to get as many objects as they can in one matchbox. Nothing useful here, no real challenge, just a bunch of people having fun. I like the idea, and I might end up entering this championship on day. I’ll let you enjoy selection of artifacts!

[fr] Le championnat international des bourreurs de boîtes d’allumette. Je sais pas vous, mais ça sonne un poil vulgaire dans la langue de Molière. Et « stuffiste » en français ça donne quoi? Bourreur? …

It can be disturbing with all these drugs, sex and choped up arms’n'heads’n'legs. But then, you see the jokes about “les vaudois”, the funny cartoon characters and you understand that this guy isn’t as F*** up as his painting.
